Job summary

Job description

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Logistics Specialist I or II. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.

Summary:

The Logistics Specialist/Analyst is responsible for handling the logistics procedures for organization, dealing with goods preparation, shipping receipts, and shipment deliveries. Logistics Specialists/Analysts are also responsible for processing orders, preparing goods, receiving shipments, and shipping deliveries, ensuring that all transactions are within the allotted schedule. This position oversees shipments, ensuring alignment with the expected quality and quantity, maintains an accurate record of inventory, produces reports, and adheres to the policies and standards, always working to enhance practices.

Responsibilities:

Logistics Specialist I
  • Receiving focus:
    • Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies.
    • Safely load and unload trucks and trailers, following established procedures and safety protocols.
    • Sort, scan, and stock receivables.
    • Inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, or defects.
    • Sampling of inbound raw chemicals.
  • Shipping focus:
    • Use applicable computer programs to ensure all items are shipped in a timely, and accurate manner.
    • Review, verify, and follow customer shipping instructions and prepare outgoing shipments by packaging products securely and applying appropriate labeling.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipment per customer requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments, as required, to complete assigned responsibilities to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally with material handling, import/export, purchasing, procurement, and others to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
  • Accurately record inventory levels and update databases and inventory systems.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of shipping and receiving areas.
  • Obtain DOT/IATA Certification within 90 days of employment.
Logistics Specialist II
  • Same duties as Logistics Specialist I.
  • Additional Duties as Logistics Specialist II:
    • Comply with all applicable transportation regulations, international trade regulations, and company policies and procedures.
    • Report incidents or accidents to departmental leadership and safety, as applicable.
    • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials within the facility.
    • Coordinate with production/manufacturing teams to prioritize material movements according to production schedules.
    • Maintain accurate records of material movements and transactions using computerized inventory systems.
    • Monitor requisitions, inventory, and systems and notify leadership of any issues or discrepancies.
    • Plan and coordinate inbound and/or outbound shipments to optimize transportation efficiency and minimize costs.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements and efficiency to leadership
    • Participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventory checks as required.
Education & Credentials
  • Logistics Specialist I
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Logistics Specialist II
    • High school diploma or equivalent and
    • Minimum 2 years of related experience or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Maintain DOT/IATA Certification via successful renewal every two years.
