Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that our programs have the necessary resources to operate effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  1. Inspecting, maintaining, and operating emergency services equipment.
  2. Managing the statewide public safety training system.
  3. Distributing and delivering course manuals, safety equipment, and training props.
  4. Updating manuals and inventory, reordering printed materials.
  5. Checking, packaging, and shipping equipment to instructors.
  6. Transporting instructional personnel for domestic and overseas assignments, often on short notice.
  7. Operating training props and equipment during lab sessions, including at off-site locations and different shifts.

Note: The Department conducts approximately 3,000 courses annually.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Rate: $21.25 - $22.74 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED with specialized technical or vocational training and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Fire service experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and adaptability to changing schedules and environments.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operation of emergency services equipment and training props.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Flexible schedule for special assignments.
  • Certifications in the emergency services field.
