POSITION SCOPE

The logistics specialist is a key member of Soufflet Malt’s logistics team. You will ensure the daily success of tender management, working closely with customer service and distribution centers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical for creating seamless logistics processes. Strong communication, collaboration, and a team-oriented attitude are essential for supporting process improvements, system optimization, customer delivery issues, carrier management, freight payment, and audits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Ensure coverage and execution of loads against milestones, identifying risks to successful delivery.
  2. Arrange special transportation for expedited, diverted, or consolidated shipments.
  3. Review and decide on accessorial charge requests within payment windows.
  4. Assist with freight invoice reviews, diagnose discrepancies, and correct basic errors.
  5. Work proactively with carriers to provide necessary information for smooth transportation.
  6. Resolve customer shipment issues, including routing returns, damage claims, and replacements.
  7. Monitor carrier performance and report failures for review.
  8. Support data cleaning for aging exceptions by gathering shipment data.
  9. Stay updated on carrier routes, rates, and changes.
  10. Update internal documents and TMS system configurations as needed.
  11. Serve as a primary logistics contact for customer shipment inquiries.
  12. Coordinate with customer service on complaints and problem resolution.

  7. Ability to interpret transportation documents (rate contracts, BOLs).
  8. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years experience with LTL logistics.
  9. Experience with BlueJay Solution or similar TMS systems.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Standard hours with flexibility for time zone differences.
  2. Ability to remain stationary or stand for extended periods.
  3. Constant use of a computer and office equipment.
  4. Personal protective equipment required on manufacturing and distribution sites.
  5. Work in an open-office, hybrid environment, and participate in onsite meetings.
  6. Compliance with all safety policies and standards.
COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: $25.26 - $37.89 per hour DOE
