Hydro Aluminum Metal is a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods, and high-purity aluminum, with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. Our primary metal production facilities are located in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Qatar, with recycling facilities throughout Europe and the U.S. Two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

Job Summary:

Coordinate and optimize inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities to ensure efficient supply chain operations. Engage with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), internal Hydro sales team, Metal Management, and Commercial Operations staff for transportation coordination, inventory management, and timely delivery of metal. Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Develop synergies, improvements, and cost savings with the Plant’s Logistic team.

Salary Range:

$73,806 - $81,756

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and/or more than 3 years logistics experience in similar positions.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP Analytics and Power BI is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of warehouse and transportation management, familiarity with supply chain best practices.
  • Strong data interpretation skills to propose solutions and process improvements.
  • Self-motivated, independent, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, respond to rapid change, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Focus on customer and supplier relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform SAP updates, freight scheduling, stock tracking, port/warehouse arrivals, and order management daily.
  • Develop and maintain a network of 3PLs, fostering strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct regular meetings with 3PL partners to review performance and address challenges.
  • Tender and negotiate logistics contracts and service level agreements.
  • Analyze and approve invoicing, allocate costs for outbound orders and warehousing.
  • Maintain accurate shipment reporting and tracking.
  • Manage inventory levels, oversee inventory control procedures, and apply FIFO principles.
  • Handle claims or deductions related to order fulfillment, paperwork, delivery, and damaged materials.
  • Collaborate with Hydro’s Aluminum Metal Production facilities to evaluate and implement synergies, improvements, and cost savings.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement, automation, and simplification.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Light travel may be required quarterly for inventory control, audits, training, and plant visits.
