Job summary

SMS group Inc. is seeking a Logistics Specialist to manage end-to-end logistics, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments and optimizing transportation costs.

You will prioritize diverse shipping requirements to meet delivery dates for OEM projects, Technical Service operations, and Workshops. The role requires a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of logistics experience, with strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 2+ years of logistics experience including shipping, working with carriers and freight forwarders, import and export procedures.
• Able to manage time effectively.
• Excellent oral and written language skills.
• Familiarity with GSS or SAP Pro4 systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, receive purchase orders in SAP/GSS, create shipping documents and track shipments through delivery.
• Post goods issue in SAP to trigger invoices to customers.
• Handle all import and export related matters.
• Ensure materials and goods are delivered to sites/vendors on time as per criteria.
• Assess and recommend shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet parameters and costs.
• Communicate with internal customers and logistics providers including Buyers, Engineers, Project Managers, Site Managers and suppliers.
• Address issues and participate in resolution.
• Maintain documentation and monitor carrier performance.
• Develop logistics plans in cooperation with Project Management and Service Plant Managers.

About this position

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process. This individual will coordinate and schedule all inbound and outbound shipments, continuously striving to optimize transportation expenditures. A key responsibility includes prioritizing diverse shipping requirements to consistently meet expected delivery dates for OEM projects, Technical Service operations, and Workshops.

• Addresses issues and actively participates in the resolution
• Maintains documentation and continually monitors carrier performance
• Develops logistics plans in cooperation with Project Management and Service Plant Managers

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
• Preferred 2+ years of logistics experience including shipping, working with carriers and freight forwarders, import and export procedures
• Able to manage time effectively
• Excellent oral and written language skills
• Familiarity with GSS or SAP Pro4 business system is preferred
• Working knowledge of standard computer software, including Word, Excel and Outlook
