Logistics Specialist

Carol Stream, IL

Pay: $18 - $19 / hour + OT

Stable and growing company located in Carol Stream is seeking a Logistics Specialist who can work in a fast-paced environment to join their team! The ideal candidate for this role is organized, process-driven, and has great attention to detail. Excellent growth and career path, health benefits and pay up to $40k.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing the freight coordination for Trucking freight of product including compliance related to documentation
• Schedule, book and align trucks and plan flatbed shipments
• Work with carriers to plan loans and prepare freight to be shipped out according to plan/calendar
• Coordinate delayed shipments
• Collaborates with team to coordinate timely transportation
• Accountable for conducting rate analysis with carriers, vendors and brokers
• Responsible for internal documentation of ongoing shipping/receivables
• Responsible for initiating Customs documentation such as Commercial Invoices and Bills of Lading
• Identify opportunities to improve service into consignee and customer locations; create and implement solutions based on findings
• Update customers regarding shipment (Track, Trace, report delays)
• Provide reporting for carrier performance, consignee performance, and volume spike impacts
• Respond to all Customer requests for information
• Partner with Warehouse and customer manufacturing shipping locations ensure volumes can be supported
• Support Customer invoicing processes
