Job summary

LabConnect is seeking a Logistics Solutions Specialist II to manage logistics strategies, documentation, and compliance for complex clinical trial projects. You will support study setup, maintenance, and execution, ensuring global compliance and proper documentation for a portfolio of studies.

You will collaborate with internal teams and Sponsors/CROs, develop transit strategies, and oversee invoicing, customs, and daily logistics transactions to ensure timely movement of materials worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field preferred; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• 4+ years of industry-related logistics experience in managing clinical studies required.
• Knowledge of international supply chain processes, carriers, third party logistics companies, forwarders, couriers, and transportation performance measures required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Setup Managers, Strategic Client Managers and Project Managers to define and document all logistics needs for assigned projects.
• Manage 20-40 studies at a time, classified as complex with high importance.
• Provide immediate responses to logistics queries and concerns.
• Serve as primary logistics contact for Project Management and Client Services with Sponsors and/or CROs.
• Investigate feasibility for shipping lanes and develop transit strategies.
• Develop site-instruction documents (Starter Packs) with carriers.
• Develop and implement logistics and customs compliance strategies for projects.
• Draft and manage pro-forma and shipment-specific invoices across all partners.
• Manage documents for movement of materials/bio-specimens across borders; review signatures.
• Explain carrier performance and logistics solutions based on data.
• Maintain processes for daily transactions to ensure timely movement of products.
• Cover other Logistics Team roles as needed and participate in quality actions.

Job Summary

The Logistics Solutions Specialist II is responsible for managing logistics strategies, documentation, and compliance for clinical trial projects of increasing complexity. This role supports study setup, maintenance, and execution, ensuring accurate logistics documentation and global compliance. The Logistics Solutions Specialist II manages a portfolio of complex studies and collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Setup Managers, Strategic Client Managers and Project Managers to ensure that all logistics needs for assigned projects / programs are clearly defined and documented.
• Manage 20-40 studies at a time, which are classified as complex with a high level of importance.
• Provide immediate response to Project Management on logistics queries and concerns.
• Serve as the primary logistics contact for Project Management and Client Services and is in direct contact with Sponsors and/or Contract Research Organizations in case of specific logistics topics.
• Investigate, with support of colleagues in the logistics team, feasibility for shipping lanes in support of client objectives for site and laboratory locations; make recommendations for transit strategies.
• Support in creating a document of site-instructions, i.e., Starter Packs, in collaboration with the selected carrier(s).
• Develop logistics and customs compliance strategies and processes for assigned projects / programs.
• Develop and execute processes for drafting and managing pro-forma and shipment-specific invoices across all partners, vendors and regions.
• Manage all logistics documents required for movement of materials and biological specimens across global borders for assigned projects / programs; review and facilitate signatures per site/country.
• Explain the performance of international carriers and logistics solutions of the assigned projects / programs, based on data.
• Implement and maintain processes to handle daily transactions as necessary to ensure timely movement of products from origin to destination for assigned projects / programs.
• Assume all responsibilities of other roles in the Logistics Team when required in support of assigned projects / programs.
• Participates in investigation and corrective/preventive actions for Quality Events related to logistics failures in assigned projects / programs.

Education and Experience

• BS or MS in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field preferred; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• 4+ years of industry-related logistics experience in managing clinical studies required. Experience managing complex clinical studies preferred.
• Knowledge of international supply chain processes, carriers, third party logistics companies, forwarders, couriers, and transportation performance measures required.
