Job summary

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
At least 6 months shipping/receiving experience or related areas.
Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of loading techniques, weight limitations and company procedures.
Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook.
Forklift driver licensing must be completed.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and schedules all outbound loads with sales and production.
Verifies shipping documents and records discrepancies.
Sets up loads to be shipped via common carrier with outside freight companies.
Coordinates routing of orders and dispatches carrier with proper delivery instructions.
Ensures paperwork meets company and DOT regulations.
Documents shortages, investigates causes, informs sales and admin.
Handles tracing/expediting orders as needed.
Maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
May assist with loading and unloading material from trucks or carts.
Prepares reports and correspondence as required.
