Job summary

Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver based in Valparaiso, IN, to join the Supply Chain Group. The role includes coordinating inbound receipts and outbound shipments, processing essential shipping documents, and maintaining accurate ERP records to support plant operations.

The position requires 1–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma (post-secondary preferred), and proficiency with Oracle and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
• 1–3 years of administrative or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/business systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and sound independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily inbound receipt of raw materials and outbound shipment of finished goods, verifying quantities and accuracy against POs and BOLs.
• Prepare and process shipping documents (BOLs, invoices, packing lists, export documents) for domestic and international freight.
• Enter and maintain inventory records in Oracle in real time.
• Schedule shipments with customers and carriers, confirming delivery windows and pickup times.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready shipping/receiving records per ISO 9001.
