Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer in Hagerstown, MD. You will screen personnel and visitors, monitor access points, and provide excellent customer service at a logistics site.

The role requires 18+ (21+ for armed), a high school diploma, and a background check. You will participate in regular patrols and respond calmly to incidents as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or contractors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles entering and leaving the facility in accordance with established access‑control and screening procedures.
• Monitor entry points, loading areas, and surrounding operations for unusual activity, unauthorized access, or policy violations, and report observations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific procedures and communicating with supervisors and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
