Job summary

The Kroger Great Lakes Distribution Center is seeking a sanitation associate to provide cleaning and sanitation support across the distribution center. You will model our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety for others.

Key tasks include sweeping, mopping, operating cleaning and waste equipment, and maintaining offices and racking areas. Flexibility for shifts, weekends, and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one month related experience or training.
• Able to read and write simple correspondence and basic numbers.
• Capable of basic arithmetic using US customary units.
• Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
• Able to work a flexible weekend schedule and overtime as needed.
• Must be 18 or older with a strong sense of urgency.
• Work shift flexibility required; accuracy and attention to detail emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Hand sweep and mop all floor areas.
• Pick up plastic, slip sheets and debris with electric tuggers.
• Dump garbage cans and operate waste equipment.
• Run compactors, bailer, sweepers, scrubbers, and high pressure washers.
• Maintain office and racking areas with cleanliness.
• Strip and wax flooring using buffers.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
