Job summary

Batory Foods is seeking a Logistics Planner to manage daily load planning using the Transportation Management System (TMS) from our Rosemont, IL office. You will coordinate with customers and suppliers, track shipments, and drive on-time performance while optimizing routing and costs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, 5 years in logistics, and experience with TMS/BluJay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or supply chain.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics with process knowledge.
• Experience with TMS systems (BluJay preferred).
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day load planning in TMS to meet service levels.
• Maintain proactive communications with customers and suppliers.
• Track and trace shipments; manage exceptions and escalations.
• Optimize shipments for cost efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to meet schedules.

Logistics Planner

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day load planning in Batory Foods TMS. Tactical relationships related to the day-to-day execution of the Batory Foods customer and supplier account(s). Ensuring proactive communication to all internal and external Batory customers. Tracking and tracing of all exception, outbound and inbound shipments. Candidates must be able to work in-office at our Rosemont, IL.

Key Responsibilities

• Freight Assignments - Exceed customer on-time pick-up and delivery expectations; proactive analysis to prevent service failures, executing inbound and outbound movement.
• Customer Relationship - Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt, and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc.
• Carrier Relationship - Develop carrier relationship and cover loads.
• Financial Procedures and Operating Metrics – Manage accessorial request in in TMS.
• Leverages knowledge and understanding of Modes, Rates, Weights, Volumes, Pallets, Class etc. based on Customer's shipping requirements.
• Verify shipment suitability, e.g. weight, size, product, special shipping requirements and make necessary adjustments.
• Optimize Customer Orders into shipments in the most cost-effective way.
• Coordinate and direct shipments and deliveries, Carrier equipment utilization.
• Communicate and gain approval for expedite shipments or any rate exceeding account specific benchmark threshold.
• Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential to facilitate the life cycle of an order.

Education And Formal Training

• Bachelor’s Degree (Logistics / Business/ Supply Chain) required.
• 5 years’ experience in logistics.
• Experience in TMS and/or BluJay Solutions, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
• The ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups. Able to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally. Able to overcome obstacles to cooperation and to foster harmonious relations.
• Detailed oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
• Effective communicator both oral and Good listener.
