Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts seeks a Transportation Specialist to optimize non-company fleet shipments by planning and coordinating pickups and deliveries. You will use TMS software to route shipments, monitor costs, and ensure on-time performance while delivering exceptional customer service.

In this role you will collaborate with multiple departments to improve supply chain efficiency, analyze freight expenses, and support special projects with accurate cost data and timely communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong customer service.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer operations.
• Prior TMS experience and logistics software experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize routes for shipments using a TMS.
• Schedule on-time pickup and delivery of shipments.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays and route deviations.
• Process inquiries for rate estimates and service times.
• Perform freight cost analysis on transportation expenses for shipments and special projects.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and requests related to shipments.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain operations.
• All other duties as assigned.
