Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily freight handling operations at our Lake City, USA location. You will lead a team of freight handlers, coordinate loading and unloading, and ensure accurate documentation and packaging in line with regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field and 3–5 years' supervisory experience in freight operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in freight operations or logistics, with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of freight handlers and operational staff.
• Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance toward efficient operations.
• Coordinate loading, unloading, and handling of freight shipments.
• Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and packaging in compliance with regulations.
• Plan and prioritize freight operations to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Monitor workflow and adjust resources to optimize efficiency.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, and stakeholders to coordinate movements and address inquiries.
• Ensure timely communication and resolve customer concerns.
• Implement quality control to ensure accuracy of freight handling.
• Conduct inspections and audits to maintain high service quality.
• Enforce safety protocols and provide safety training.
• Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and comply with policies.
• Prepare operational reports with performance metrics and incident reports.
• Maintain documentation of freight movements (bills of lading, shipping manifests).
