Job summary

Maersk Ground Freight is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all operations, including processing shipments, preparing paperwork, communicating freight status, and dispatching drivers. The role serves as the primary interface between Maersk Ground Freight, customers, sales, system operations and vendors, ensuring quality customer service while enforcing company policies.

Shift: Tue-Sat 5pm to 3am. You will train staff, conduct performance reviews, and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations management for logistics/shipping environments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and process shipments and paperwork.
• Dispatch drivers and communicate freight status to customers.
• Coordinate with sales, operations and vendors to ensure service levels.
• Train, mentor and evaluate direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Analyze KPIs and drive continuous improvement in operations.
