Job summary

Akhire in Soldotna, AK is seeking a hands-on Logistics Operations Manager to oversee daily terminal operations and ensure smooth day-to-day activities.

You will lead a small team of drivers, coordinate schedules, and work with HR, Safety, Finance, Customer Service, and Sales to maintain productivity and high customer service while upholding FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of related experience in terminal operations, warehousing, transportation, or a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED (equivalent).
• Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the terminal, including freight receiving, loading, unloading, staging, dispatch, and delivery coordination.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of approximately five drivers responsible for transporting and handling freight.
• Coordinate employee schedules, monitor attendance, and manage daily staffing needs.
• Promote efficient operations while maintaining high standards of productivity and customer service.
• Track operational performance and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Work with departments such as Human Resources, Safety, Finance, Customer Service, and Sales to support overall business operations.
• Ensure safety and compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership and operational management skills.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and decision making abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage daily operations with minimal supervision.
