Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a capable supervisor to lead a team responsible for moving shipments on time and damage-free. You will supervise daily operations, plan manpower, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while maintaining strong communications with customers and partners.

The role requires a background in logistics, the ability to travel as needed, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A commitment to safety, process improvement, and reliable teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety performance.
• Monitor safety and correct unsafe acts/conditions with corrective action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on‑time, damage‑free freight delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees for clear direction.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight misclassifications and ensure OS&D is identified and processed.
• Perform administrative functions and comply with laws and company policies.
