Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is offering an Operations Internship for Fall 2026. Under close supervision, the intern will assist with customers on providing transportation and logistics services.

Responsibilities include exposure to freight planning, asset utilization, safety and DOT compliance, driver payroll, and logistics analysis, with a 20–25 hour per week schedule during the school semester, and an opportunity to learn about industry trends and driver retention.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week during the school semester.
• Preferred: adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight, asset utilization, safety management, DOT compliance, driver payroll.
• Support logistics management/analysis, driver supervision, and maintenance coordination.
• Learn industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform other account-specific duties as required.
