Job summary

Werner Enterprises is offering a paid summer internship at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, with some remote/off-site opportunities. The program provides dedicated job training, real-world experience, and potential housing assistance.

You will work with the Optimization and Dedicated Backhaul teams to learn freight networks, assist with billing, ensure timely data entry, and gain exposure to AI-driven efficiency across multiple divisions using Mastery TMS and Hoptek tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
• Interest in logistics, supply chain analytics, or customer service.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with freight network management across one-way and dedicated divisions.
• Assist with the billing process for freight managed by the Optimization team.
• Help ensure booked freight is entered in the system and communicated with divisions to meet on-time pickup/delivery.
• Learn how Werner’s Optimization team uses technology and AI for cross-modal efficiency.
• Operate daily workflows using Mastery TMS and Hoptek tools like Freight Finder, Commitment Manager, and Load and Mode Optimizer.
