Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking an Operations Assistant in Milwaukee, WI to support fast-paced terminal operations. You’ll help keep freight flows accurate, schedules on track, and data synchronized across systems, enabling timely deliveries and minimal rework.

You’ll coordinate with drivers, brokers, and internal teams, handle inbound/outbound paperwork, and maintain equipment and documentation to support reliable service. A deadline-focused, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–3 months of administrative or operations experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with AS/400, MS Office, imaging tools preferred.
• Foundational math skills; comfortable with weights, distances and monetary values.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving ability in non-standardized situations.
• Hazardous Materials Handling certification preferred.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or terminal operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive load visibility and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Execute administrative workflows and manage driver documentation.
• Manifest inbound and outbound freight with accurate records.
• Coordinate delivery appointments and ACRs with precision.
• Trace freight and resolve delivery disruptions across networks.
• Maintain equipment and provide general administrative support.
