Responsibilities

  • Review receipts against POs and maintain inventory accuracy.

Job SummaryThe Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing domestic and international logistics operations within a manufacturing environment, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and storage of raw materials and finished products. This position manages hazardous and non-hazardous material shipments, ensures compliance with customer, quality, safety, and legal requirements, and coordinates with Sales, Operations, EHS, and other departments. The Logistics Manager also provides direct supervision to warehouse personnel and manages freight providers, costs, and related documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect shipping and receiving activities, including preparation, labeling, final inspection, pickup, shipment, and documentation for domestic and international orders.Manage the shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with applicable requirements.Develop shipping and storage strategies based on material restrictions, limitations, and operational requirements.Coordinate with EHS to ensure the safe storage and separation of reactive chemicals.Receive and verify raw materials, packaging materials, and manufactured products, including item counts and lot numbers.Oversee warehouse operations and supervise Warehouse Operators, including performance evaluation, policy enforcement, and disciplinary actions when necessary.Review material receipts against purchase orders and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts.Ensure products and materials are properly labeled, stored, and documented.Evaluate freight carriers, monitor freight costs, review freight invoices, and manage freight claims.Manage departmental costs in accordance with established budgets.Maintain warehouse safety and industrial hygiene standards while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.Promote teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous learning within the department.Minimum Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.International logistics/shipping experience.Hands-on inventory management experience.Experience working with ERP systems.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.Special RequirementsCurrent IMDG/IATA certification for handling, packaging, and shipping hazardous materials.Full-time, exempt position.Schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Some schedule flexibility is permitted; core hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. must be maintained.37.5-hour workweek.No travel required.Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs.Ability to lift or move office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDomestic and international shipping and receiving.Hazardous and non-hazardous material handling and shipping.IMDG and IATA shipping requirements.Inventory management and cycle counting.Warehouse operations and material storage.Freight carrier evaluation, invoice review, cost monitoring, and claims management.ERP systems.Advanced Microsoft 365 skills.Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Strong attention to detail.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Ability to coordinate logistics activities across multiple departments.Knowledge of warehouse safety and industrial hygiene requirements.Additional Desired CharacteristicsExperience working with a unionized workforce.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in both industrial and administrative environments. The role uses standard office equipment and requires regular interaction with warehouse and logistics operations.
