Job summary

Amcor is seeking a logistics professional to organize manpower, schedule daily activities, and direct shipping and receiving at the Alsip facility. You will report to plant management and provide inventory and performance metrics, while maintaining safe, cost-efficient operations in a dynamic environment.

You will oversee warehouse maintenance, carrier activity, and safety programs, coordinate rail moves, and support purchasing and AP functions within the plant.

• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be proficient in Excel and Word programs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
• Self-motivated and superior problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize manpower and schedule logistics on a day-to-day basis.
• Direct shipping, receiving, and inventory control at the facility.
• Provide status reports on inventory levels and performance metrics.
• Oversee warehouse maintenance and equipment, including preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate carrier activity and ensure safety programs are followed.
• Support Purchasing and Accounts Payable functions within the plant.

Local and state regulations.Administers cost control over all functions.Responsible for layout of warehouse for storing and staging customer returns, inventory control, special handling of product, scheduling of transfer materials.Responsible for layout of plant for storing / staging raw materials as needed by Manufacturing.Responsible for coordination of rail car moves, both into and out of plant inventory.Responsible for coordination of Purchasing and Accounts Payable functions within the plant.Interviews personnel for department.Assure employee/employer relationships are maintained.Analyze employee skills in cross training programs and arrange training as required.Recommend pay increases or promotions based on employees work performance and progress in gaining job knowledge.Conducts performance appraisals.Counsels employees as needed in regards to work performance, attendance, safety or other issues.Conducts employee meetings to keep employees informed on goals, company policies/rules and safety.Attends other meetings as required.Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.QUALIFICATIONSMust have good speaking abilitiesMust be able to read, write and understand EnglishMust be proficient in Excel and Word programsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
