Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines, IA seeks a Logistics Specialist to manage mail, packages, inbound/outbound shipments, and inventory in the Logistics Assistance Center. You will operate Quadient DS1200s and postal software, ensuring timely processing per SLAs.

The role requires 1+ year in logistics, a valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You’ll work 100% in-office with occasional remote work possible; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of related logistics work experience.
• MDP Certification or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire.
• Ability to sort data quickly and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of postal regulations and logistics systems UPS, USPS, and other methods.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and effective communication skills.
• Experience with Windows and SharePoint.
• Experience with package tracking software and handheld devices.
• This is a non-office role with lifting and pulling requirements.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; overtime available.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and distribute internal and external mail and packages using tracking software.
• Complete interoffice pickups and ship requests per stakeholder needs.
• Deliver morning newspapers and materials to service centers per service levels.
• Deliver requested office supplies and ensure continuous on-site stock.
• Operate and maintain mailing equipment and vehicles in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
• Process inbound return mail into departmental tracking tool and ensure compliance.
