Job summary

Job description

Provides all areas of assigned facility with supplies necessary for optimal patient care. Ensures that all patient care supplies comply with Infection Control guidelines. Tracks and maintains inventory using an automated computer system. Enters data for patient billing. Assumes shipping and receiving/stocking and delivery responsibilities, including distribution and delivery of mail to all areas of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What You Will Do

• Receives linen at the receiving dock; monitors, inventories, restocks in assigned department, and maintains PAR levels to ensure adequate inventory of sterile and unsterile supplies are readily available; processes returns from customers in a timely manner; fills inventory supply requisitions and delivers supplies; participates in annual physical inventory.
• Receives direct purchase orders; originates purchase order requisitions, places orders and processes paperwork.
• Assists the Logistics Coordinator with daily duties; assists visitors in assigned area and answers the telephone.
• Performs general housekeeping functions; maintains hospital, DNV and other quality control standards with records of sterilization procedures; ensures safe operation of equipment; maintains equipment and work area; recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors; performs quality control checks.
• Utilizes and maintains computer‑based inventory control records and system.

Work Experience Requirements

• Required – General warehouse, material handling, inventory or shipping and receiving 1‑3 years
• Preferred – Medical/surgical supplies
