Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur is seeking an apprentice-level Maintenance Technician to support preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems in our Germantown, TN facility. You will work under supervision with Sr.

O&M specialists to learn and perform tasks aligned with our mission of compassionate care. The role requires a high school diploma, 1-3 years general maintenance experience, and a TN Class D driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• General maintenance and operations experience of 1-3 years is required.
• Valid Class D Tennessee driver license is required.

A Brief Overview

Working under direct supervision and at an apprentice level, performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs along side the Sr. O&M Specialist on a specialized building system such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, hydraulics, carpentry or machine servicing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of a trade, sufficient to deal with basic service and repairs.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and write and to communicate orally and in writing with other individuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.

Supervision Provided by this Position

There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

Occasional work performed outdoors. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. Occasional travel to other locations.

The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination.

The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.

The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
