Job summary

Amada America, Inc. in Buena Park, CA, seeks a Transportation Coordinator to develop and maintain economical shipping for the company and its customers, including rating and routing inbound and outbound shipments.

You will coordinate with customers, carriers, warehouses and internal Amada departments for routing, request quotes, track shipments, manage tariffs, process SAP deliveries, and update shipping details. Very little travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience of 1-2 years in domestic logistics and shipping documents.
• Familiarity with sheet metal machine industry

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routing of outgoing and incoming shipments with customers, carriers, warehouses, and internal Amada depts for cost-effective service and customer satisfaction.
• Request freight quotes from preferred carriers and provide to sales engineers; compare rates.
• Track machine shipments en route and provide updates to customers and management via email and phone.
• Maintain tariffs and current transportation requirements, restrictions, and rates for economical transportation.
• Process SAP deliveries for invoice processing.
• Update shipping details (Setup, Shipped, Delivered) in Edocs.
• Process and review freight bills for correct rates.
• Support team members as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
