You will perform inspections, handle loading/unloading, and support logistics teams to maintain safety and compliance.

The role requires a valid CDL-A, 3+ years of CMV experience, and strong knowledge of DOT/TXDOT rules.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• 3+ years experience operating CMV, preferably with a flatbed.
• Knowledge of USDOT and TXDOT requirements.
• Experience with dry-van trailers and oversized freight is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow transport paperwork and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Class A Driver will operate a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer to pick up, transport, and deliver materials between TAS warehouse facilities and vendor sites in the greater Houston area.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe working conditions of truck and trailer
• Verifies items being picked up or delivered
• Manages basic automotive and equipment repairs and cleanliness
• Loads and unloads truck by hand, forklift, or other equipment in accordance with TAS best practices
• Assists warehouse with transactions as needed and available
• Set up and monitor DOT Compliant Driver Files
• Conduct Road Tests of all perspective TAS Drivers
• Make recommendations to the Logistics Manager and EHS Manager to better the DOT Program for FMCSA and TXDOT Compliance
• Other duties as assigned by TAS

EDUCATION & TRAINING

3+ years of in a warehouse or inventory position

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 25+ years of age
• Valid Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Knowledgeable of USDOT requirements
• Previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Able to walk/stand in steel-toed boots for long distances/ periods of time
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Read and speak English fluently

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• TMS and MAS500 a plus
• Knowledgeable of transportation is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
