POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director, Warehouse Operations is responsible for overseeing all of warehouse operations including but not limited to the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, finished goods and products. This role manages warehouse operations across multiple facilities, ensuring efficiency, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement while leading and developing warehouse staff.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee warehouse operations across multiple facilities in the Houston metropolitan area.
  • Supervise warehouse managers.
  • Prioritize workload across the warehouses.
  • Identify and address all safety hazards within the work areas.
  • Identify and address additional capacity and resources needs.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions Ensure traceability on required materials.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate policies and procedures for warehouse operations.
  • Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Any other duties assigned by TAS
JOB SKILLS
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a staff of 3–15 individuals.
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and ERP/Warehouse Management Systems (LN experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Skilled in preparing reports, correspondence, and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify process improvements.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, regulations, and policies and apply them in practice.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
EDUCATION & TRAINING

B.A./B.S. in business, logistics, operations, supply chain, or similar degree Knowledgeable in INCO terms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 6+ years of management experience in warehouse operations.
  • 6+ years of related manufacturing or factory experience.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with ERP/Warehouse systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing international shipping processes.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Project Management (P.M.) or CPIM certification.
  • Experience leading Lean, Kaizen, or other operational excellence initiatives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
