Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Dispatcher in our Elizabeth, NJ location to schedule drivers for deliveries and pickups, while acting as the liaison between customers, drivers, and management. The role supports end-to-end warehousing and distribution operations in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The position offers direct hire with full benefits. Pay ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, with opportunities to coordinate routes, resolve issues, and ensure timely service across our extensive network.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills for communication with customers, vendors, and drivers.

• Proficiency with computer software and systems used in dispatch operations.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
• Communicate with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup/drop-off times, and special requests.
• Plan predetermined routes for drivers.
• Identify traffic problems and create corrective action plans to meet on-time goals.
• Prepare dispatch documents for management and pull necessary documents for employees, customers, or vendors.
• Maintain records of dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, and delivery/pick-up times.
• Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Log vendor complaints or concerns.
• Answer phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and assist as needed.
