Job summary

Norfolk-Iron- is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Norfolk, NE to build strong relationships with customers and carriers, track shipments, and solve transportation challenges in real time. You will coordinate shipments, manage inventory-related data, design routes, and dispatch drivers within the TMW System, while collaborating with sales and dispatch teams to meet delivery

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with customers and carriers.
• Solve transportation challenges in real time.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate updates.
• Work in a fast-paced environment solving problems.
• Assist the Product Manager in the procurement of steel products, including but not limited to: coil, plates, sheets, bars, and tubes.
• Monitor and track inventory levels, lead times, and pricing trends to ensure adequate supply and competitive pricing.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchasing activities in purchasing system/ERP.
• Work with the logistics department to coordinate the shipment of goods and ensure efficient inventory management.
• Design truck routes to multiple geographic areas throughout the country.
• Dispatch both employee and commercial drivers within the TMW System.
• Work closely with branch sales, dispatchers, and management to compile loads according to many factors, including but not limited to delivery date, types of products, customer expectations, delivery time and DOT regulations that apply to the loading or delivery process.
• Rerouting and collaborating with drivers to move and achieve maximum amount of efficiency between stops.
• Perform clerical tasks, data entry, answer phone calls, and respond and resolve issues that come up.
