Qualifications

COMPENSATION

$40.00–$46.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

Remote

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST or CST (CST-based candidates may need to sign in at 7:00 AM EST)

Travel: Possible travel to meet with Vendor, Shop, or Freight Witness; approximately 10%, with possible international travel

CONTRACT TERM

1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full-time employee.

POSITION OVERVIEW – Logistics Coordinator IV- Lead Logistics Project Manager

This role manages a regional logistics project portfolio in a manner that meets business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. This role is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services, as well as providing logistics support, consultation, and identifying the optimal mode and method of transportation to obtain the best possible transportation rates in support of business targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and execute inbound and/or outbound global logistics functions
  • Monitor POs; plan and coordinate with buyers, vendors, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods; monitor and rectify import shipment exceptions
  • For outbound project delivery, act as the customer point of contact for project logistics, supporting the Project Manager; oversee and maintain project plans and freight estimate to support customer project communication
  • Conduct RFQs for internal stakeholders to provide cost/cycle scenarios
  • For outbound projects, develop logistics strategy to optimize cycle cost within baseline EAC (Estimated Cost at Completion)
  • Manage and report on full project lifecycle EAC
  • Support timely and competitive total landed cost logistics quotes required throughout the ITO/OTR cycle in conjunction with mode specialists
  • Support logistics cost ITO strategies, including forecasting, market and infrastructure data, ensuring proposed costs are accurate and competitive
  • Maintain project logistics risks and opportunities to enable proactive upstream and downstream influence (Factory/Sourcing/Projects/Repairs/Parts) in leakage mitigation and savings opportunities
  • Identify and implement best cost solutions regarding transport mode, route, carrier selection, container utilization and consolidation, for ocean, air, and over-the-road freight, and material flow improvement
  • Manage cargo, maintain shipment schedules, and develop, maintain, and distribute shipment status reports to key stakeholders; monitor and maintain in-transit inventory reports to ensure accuracy
  • Oversee inbound container receipts for warehouse, drop shipments, and direct imports to customer; ensure timely delivery of direct-to-customer imports in compliance with routing guidelines
  • Monitor and track demurrage and detention to reduce cost and ensure accuracy of charges with carriers
  • Systematically record shipment details, enter and release receivers, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data for key stakeholders using applicable tools
  • Oversee the process to ensure accuracy of commercial invoices and packing slips, report discrepancies, and reconcile purchase order variances
  • Review and maintain document flow processes, including commercial invoice, packing slip, B/L, COO, or other documents, for accuracy and compliance with CBP and other regulatory and internal standards; track and ensure timely document availability
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to resolve problems/issues
  • Assist in execution of regional transport programs; assist with internal/external audits, record keeping, and reporting as needed
  • Assist in managing shipment and customs activities for import services
  • Assist in the negotiation of domestic freight contracts
  • Inform cost changes, shipment issues, and supply concerns to respective personnel and team in a timely manner
  • Maintain good relationships with carriers and service providers to improve overall business performance
  • Develop and monitor international routing instructions to business from customer/contract
  • Collect transport drawings and supply to carriers
  • Remain accountable for all defined KPIs and their trends; understand the drivers, facilitate related reviews, and drive necessary actions and timelines
  • Handle quality-related escalations, coordinating CoPQs and RCAs with the proper logistics function, and recommend solutions to drive sustained improvement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, project management, or supply chain function
  • International logistics experience: transportation, customs, supply chain standards, geographical concerns, free trade agreements, accreditives
  • Advanced knowledge of English required; ideally one other language is welcome
  • Proven leadership and facilitation skills, ability to work independently
  • Comfortable in matrixed cross-functional environments
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
