Job summary

Service Metal in Houston, TX is seeking a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to manage outbound shipments and ensure customer orders ship on time and error-free in a fast-paced warehouse.

You bring 2+ years of logistics or freight coordination, experience with LTL/FTL, SAP or ERP software, forklift certification, and a strong eye for detail. This onsite role includes weekly pay, benefits after 90 days, and a path to growth within our long‑standing, family‑owned company.

Qualifications

• Experience with LTL/FTL shipping; SAP, TMS, or ERP software preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to train to become certified.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Proficient with computer systems and basic reporting.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound shipments including LTL, FTL, Will-Call, and transfers; expedite priority shipments as needed.
• Manage outbound shipment activity, including delivery-note creation and shipment processing.
• Use SAP Business One and MyCarrier to schedule, quote, document, and monitor shipments with reliable service and competitive rates.
• Maintain carrier scorecards and support Shipper of Choice status.
• Communicate with carriers, customers, sales, and warehouse leadership to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.
• Verify order quantities, pallet labels, packaging, and truck loading accuracy.
• Coordinate with pallet-wrapping team to ensure shipments are accurate and shipment-ready.
• Operate PIT vehicles and assist with material movement.

Pay: $24.00-$28.00/hour | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. | Onsite

Service Metal is hiring a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to manage outbound shipping and ensure customer orders ship on time and error-free. This role is a strong fit for someone with logistics experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and coordinate outbound shipments, including LTL, FTL, Will-Call, and warehouse transfers, expediting priority shipments as needed
• Manage outbound shipment activity, including delivery-note creation and shipment processing
• Use SAP Business One and MyCarrier to schedule, quote, document, and monitor shipments while securing reliable service, competitive rates, and on-time delivery
• Maintain carrier scorecards and support our Shipper of Choice status
• Communicate professionally with carriers, customers, sales, and warehouse leadership to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery
• Verify order quantities, pallet labels, packaging, and truck loading accuracy
• Coordinate with the pallet-wrapping team to ensure shipments are accurate, secure, and shipment-ready

What You Bring
