Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage outbound paperwork, verify documents, and track shipments. You’ll coordinate with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate data entry into the Ship Log.

Strong MS Office skills and attention to detail are essential. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with associates preferred, and familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of shipping/receiving processes.
• Basic knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred—SAP.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process outbound shipment paperwork (BOLs).
• Verify shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, and carrier information.
• Track shipments and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders.
• Enter and maintain shipping, receiving, and transportation data - Ship Log.
• Create and distribute shipping documents, labels, and reports.
• File and organize logistics records in accordance with company procedures.
• Communicate with carriers and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
• Ensure all shipping documentation complies with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
