Job summary

Blue Water Shipping seeks a Business Development Intern in Miami for a paid, part-time role. The internship runs 3–6 months, averaging 20–25 hours per week, with up to 28 hours available to fit academic schedules. You will engage in freight forwarding basics, CRM activities, and structured onboarding.

Focus is on prospect research, outreach, and learning the company’s cargo services while supporting the sales team. On-site work required in Miami.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent grad in Supply Chain/Logistics/Intl Business or related field.
• Interest in logistics, freight forwarding, international trade and customer engagement.
• Comfort making introductory customer calls with coaching.
• Proficiency in MS Office; willingness to learn Dynamics CRM and campaign tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn Blue Water Shipping's services, value proposition, and customer stories.
• Build knowledge of freight forwarding, ocean freight, imports/exports, and reefer logistics.
• Participate in onboarding, coaching, and structured outreach campaigns.
• Research prospective importers/exporters in Food & Beverage and general cargo markets.
• Conduct introductory calls; explain services and share the company story.
• Qualify prospects and identify pricing requests or sales leads.
• Support sales with prospect research, outreach, and lead handoff.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of prospects and activities.
• Use Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and campaign tools.
• Engage in progress reviews and learning activities.
