Job summary

Blue Water Shipping is seeking a Procurement & Carrier Management Associate based in Miami. The role covers imports/exports across trade lanes, negotiating rates, managing carriers, and providing commercial support.

You will work with sales, operations, and finance, reporting to the Head of Procurement & Business Development. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in freight forwarding/ocean procurement, strong Excel, CRM and Power BI skills, and excellent English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
• 5+ years of freight forwarding, NVOCC, ocean procurement, pricing, or carrier-management experience.
• Professional fluency in English is required.
• Ability to negotiate independently within authority and escalation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and manage ocean carriers, NVOCC partners, consolidators, and logistics vendors.
• Negotiate ocean freight rates and commercial conditions.
• Coordinate bids, RFQs, and procurement reporting.
• Support procurement strategy with carrier analysis and benchmarking.
• Maintain procurement records and KPI reporting in CRM/ERP systems.
