Job summary

The Kroger Memphis Logistics HR team is seeking an Assist HR Manager to lead the Logistics HR function and help deliver key department metrics. You will champion the company values of respect, integrity, diversity and safety while driving staffing, recruitment and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, recruiting efforts with Talent Acquisition, onboarding, retention programs, and maintaining compliant personnel records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HR experience
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
• Experience coaching and training staff

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing activities to align with staffing forecast
• Own recruiting activities and coordinate efforts with the Center of Excellence for Talent Acquisition
• Ensure all hiring requisitions are worked timely and candidates are processed appropriately
• Resolve issues with candidate experience, including background checks and adjudication
• Oversee the onboarding of new associates and conduct orientation and appropriate training
• Develop and execute programs to promote retention
• Ensure personnel files are maintained according to company guidelines
• Provide education and direction for management on contract interpretation, labor relations principles and effective conflict resolution
• Facilitate training on-site as directed by corporate Supply Chain
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Travel up to 15% of time to support business units
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of HR experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results
• Demonstrated ability to coach and train

• Bachelor's Degree HR related field or comparable experience
• Any experience working in employment law
• Any experience in a supervisory position
