When needed, you’ll also step into customer-facing roles to support curbside pickups and returns. This role calls for strong attention to detail, comfort in a fast-paced warehouse setting, and the ability to handle heavy merchandise safely and efficiently. If you’re highly organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to operational excellence, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Salary Range: $18.00 per hour. Note: The hourly rate is a fixed entry rate for this position and applies to all new hires. While the system may display a pay range, this role’s starting rate is non-negotiable. Future pay increases are determined by performance, growth, and time in role, in accordance with our compensation policy.

What Does a Logistics & Inventory Associate Do?
  • Demonstrate Reliability: Be present and punctual for your full shift every day. This commitment helps ensure our customers get the support they need when they need it. When unexpected situations arise, proactively communicate and plan ahead whenever possible.
  • Receive and Process Shipments: Unload incoming furniture and products, including moving large, heavy items safely. Accurately process and document inventory details.
  • Customer Engagement: Own the customer experience for curbside transactions, carry-outs, pickups, and returns. Use POS systems effectively to keep these interactions smooth and positive. Step in to assist customer-facing operations as needed, helping ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for all Wayfair guests.
  • Ensure Inventory Accuracy: Use scanning technology to record carton-level details like product condition, quantity, and store location.
  • Monitor Order Management: Track both in-store and online orders handled through back-of-house operations to ensure they are fulfilled on time.
  • Manage Inventory Movement: Pick, stage, and move products from storage to sales floor while keeping everything organized and in its proper place.
  • Support Operational Excellence: Work with store teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain stock accuracy, and uphold Wayfair’s commitment to efficiency.
  • Operate as “One Team”: You will support Wayfair’s total store goals by cross-training across key store functions, including sales and back-of-house operations. You'll flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs and peak business periods.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Have
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Retail or Warehouse Experience: At least 6 months in a retail backroom, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with scanning technology and order management systems is a plus.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ready to adjust to changing processes and take initiative to troubleshoot inventory or logistics challenges.
Additional Physical And Environmental Requirements
  • Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
  • Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.
  • Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.
  • Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.
  • Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards—must adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols for lifting, equipment use, and back-of-house operations to maintain a safe environment for team members and customers. English fluency in written and spoken communications are essential to support teammates, ensure safety, and provide excellent customer service.
