Job summary

KCC Companies in Louisville, KY is seeking a Warehouse/Forklift Operator to move and stage finished units, load trucks, and keep the yard clean. You will assist Shipping/Receiving, communicate with customers and suppliers, and support year-end inventory tasks as needed.

Requires 3+ years of forklift experience (6000 lbs+), ability to lift 50 lbs, and DOT medical clearance. Overtime may be required due to late trucks and weather delays.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Minimum three years’ experience driving 6,000 lbs or heavier forklifts.
• DOT medical exam required to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to lift/move boxes weighing 50 lbs or less.

Responsibilities

• Takes finished units off exit deck and stages with other units on the same order.
• Loads finished units onto trucks in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
• Packages and loads 'Yellow folder' jobs that accompany finished units.
• Keeps the yard orderly, neat, clean and free of debris.
• Assists Shipping/Receiving with clerical duties when needed.
• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Actively participate to move the team toward completion of goals.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Takes finished units off exit deck and stages with other units on the same order.
• Loads finished units onto trucks in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
• Packages and loads “Yellow folder” jobs that accompany finished units.
• Collects and returns skates to proper location.
• Keeps the yard orderly, neat, clean and free of debris.
• Assist Shipping Supervisor with clerical duties when needed.
• Brings units back into building if needed.
• Assists Receiving/Warehouse in unloading sheet metal from trucks.
• Communicates effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Assists with Year End Inventory tasks as needed.
• Safely operates various pieces of warehouse/yard equipment (Forklifts etc.)
• Actively participate as a member of the team to move the team towards completion of goals.
• Takes the initiative to find, identify and propose changes to processes not working well.
• Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
• Exhibits a service oriented and a customer focused attitude in performing daily functions.
• Shows the ability to work well under pressure, such as when multiple trucks are onsite.
• Posesses effective written and verbal communication skills; displays reading comprehension skills.
• Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments.

Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Minimum three years’ experience driving 6,000 lbs. or heavier forklifts.
• 1 – 2 years’ experience operating straddle lifters preferred.
• Proficient understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively.
• Possess a strong team spirit.
• Ability to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Capable of lifting/moving boxes weighing 50 lbs or less.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• DOT medical exam required to operate company vehicles.
• Able to adapt to all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime ad hoc (due to late trucks/weather delays).
