Job description

The Logistics and Shipping Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our logistics team by managing customer invoices, packaging shipments, overseeing logistics shipping, and providing administrative support to the logistics team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, shop and forklift experience, a strong attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

International Logistics (Import/Export)

• Documentation: Prepare commercial invoices and packing slips for air and ocean shipments.
• Carrier Coordination: Contact shipping companies to verify rates and schedule pickups/deliveries.
• Customs & Compliance: Provide clear customs clearance instructions for imports.
• Tracking: Log all shipment status updates in Monday.com and communicate tracking info to customers.
• Admin: Create internal purchase orders for all international freight.

Domestic Shipping

• Freight Scheduling: Coordinate with the production team to schedule LTL and FTL truck shipments.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate shipment logs in Monday.com.

Warehouse & Inventory

• Labeling: Mark packages with part numbers, quantities, and PO numbers.
• Packing: Securely pack and palletize products for safe transport.
• Equipment: Willingness to be forklift certified.
• Maintenance: Keep the shipping and staging areas clean and organized.

Other JobResponsibilities:

• Follow all Smart Family shop procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
