Placements24, on behalf of a national FMCG distributor, seeks an experienced Logistics and Distribution Manager to oversee the Queenstown operations in the Eastern Cape. You will manage warehousing, inventory, transportation, and order fulfilment to ensure timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years’ FMCG logistics leadership, strong people management and data-driven process improvements, with proficiency in WMS, TMS, ERP and MS Office.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the logistics and distribution functions, including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Manage and lead the logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Ensure efficient inventory management, including stock levels, cycle counting, and accuracy.
• Coordinate transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and fleet management to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and transportation regulations.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for logistics operations and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, transport providers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee warehouse operations to ensure safety, security, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to budget development and management for the logistics department.

About the Role

Our client, a national distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is seeking an experienced Logistics and Distribution Manager to oversee operations in the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region. This role is responsible for managing the entire logistics network, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and order fulfillment, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery to customers. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehousing and transportation.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
