Job summary

Rust Logistics is seeking an experienced Logistics & Brokerage Coordinator to support our growing freight brokerage and transportation operations. You will source carrier capacity, negotiate rates, coordinate freight movements, and manage customer and carrier relationships through pickup to delivery.

The ideal candidate has prior freight brokerage or truckload logistics experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires freight brokerage, transportation brokerage, or truckload logistics experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
• Familiarity with load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and secure qualified carrier capacity.
• Negotiate carrier rates and maximize load profitability.
• Manage freight movements from pickup through delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
• Track and trace shipments and resolve service issues proactively.
• Communicate with customers, drivers, brokers, and carrier partners.
• Review carrier qualifications and onboarding documentation.
• Assist with carrier compliance and risk management.
• Enter and maintain load information in company systems.
• Coordinate appointments, pickups, and deliveries.
• Resolve transportation issues and service failures quickly and professionally.

This position is responsible for sourcing carrier capacity, negotiating rates, coordinating freight movements, managing customer and carrier relationships, and ensuring loads move safely and efficiently from pickup through delivery. The ideal candidate has previous experience working for a freight broker, 3PL, transportation brokerage, or truckload carrier operation.
