  • Collaborate with customer service and operations to match carriers with loads efficiently.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and carrier market conditions to recommend improvements.

Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Carrier Relationship Manager to join our team. The Carrier Relationship Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with the Company’s carrier network, ensuring a seamless and rewarding carrier experience within a truckload brokerage environment. This position acts as the main port of contact for carriers and supports operation efficiency, enhances communication, and drives carrier satisfaction, negotiating directly with carriers to increase profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage strong, long-term relationships with carriers in the truckload brokerage network by negotiating short- and long-term rate agreements. Act as the primary point of contact for carrier inquiries feedback, and support. Conduct regular check-ins to ensure carrier satisfaction and address concerns proactively.
  • Procure carrier capacity, negotiate rates, examine profitability, and manage new carriers to support the Company’s growing freight demands. Verify carrier qualifications, certifications, and compliance with Company standards.
  • Manage carriers’ performance metrics, including profitably, on‑time delivery, load acceptance, and service quality. Provide feedback and coaching to carriers to improve profitability based on the freight market and the carriers’ performance when needed.
  • Address and resolve carrier-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Serve as a mediator between carriers and internal teams to resolve disputes or misunderstandings.
  • Work closely with the customer team to match carriers with suitable loads efficiently. Partner with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth freight movement and issue resolution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, carrier market conditions, and freight capacity dynamics. Provide recommendations to leadership on carrier strategy improvements.
  • Resolve escalated team complex carrier issues or disputes, ensuring prompt resolution. Develop and implement processes to prevent recurring problems and enhance carrier satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in freight brokerage or logistics. Preferred
  • Strong understanding of carrier operations and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of DOT and related safety regulations
  • Proven experience working successfully in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply change or related field - Preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience - Preferred
