Job summary

Yanfeng in Louisville seeks a Material Planner to determine material requirements from production plans and customer needs, and to secure parts through ERP.

You will maintain inventory levels, coordinate supplier logistics, track deliveries and backorders, and enter data into ERP, working across receiving, production and shipping with a focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain.
• 1-3 years of automotive supply chain experience.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and plants.

Responsibilities

• Determine material requirements from production plans and customer needs via ERP.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure material availability for production.
• Coordinate with suppliers on transportation and debit balances.
• Track deliveries and backorders and report findings.
• Enter data into ERP and coordinate workflows between receiving, production, and shipping.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, EHS, Product Safety and information security requirements.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain attendance.

• Determine material requirements in accordance with production plans and customer needs and disposition of all purchased parts of each project via ERP system.
• Inventory control and securing availability of materials for production.
• Communication with suppliers, initiate special transportation, planning inventory, clarifying debit balances.
• Tracking and reporting on deliveries / backorders from suppliers.
• Data entries in ERP system.
• Coordinating work-flow between goods receipt department, production and shipping.
• Coordinate material pick up form suppliers or storage warehouse.
• Manage Inventory levels according to profit plan.
• Support material planning for new launch and build out.
• Quality System: Understand, apply and meet all function‑related Quality requirements.
• Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function‑related EHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or equivalent work experience may also be considered.
• 1-3 years of previous experience within the automotive supply chain industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
