Job summary

Swoon is seeking a Logistics Analyst 2 for an onsite role in Morton, IL. The position focuses on material planning, procurement coordination, inventory management, and supplier performance within Caterpillar's logistics operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating material flows, scheduling inbound materials, developing procurement plans, and monitoring supplier performance. Strong MS Office skills and MRP knowledge are required; SAP Mach1 is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience in logistics, supply chain, material planning, procurement, or similar field.
• Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of materials within the manufacturing facility.
• Schedule inbound materials and coordinate material transfers between inventory and warehouses.
• Develop and execute material planning for assigned product lines.
• Ensure material requirements are fulfilled within required timelines.
• Schedule and control the release of materials.
• Monitor material inventory at the plant, warehouse, and critical suppliers.
• Build and follow up on procurement plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Track and analyze supplier performance metrics.
• Communicate and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely material deliveries.
• Facilitate the movement of goods inbound and resolve material planning issues.
• Resolve MRP exceptions and minimize material shortages or delays.
• Work with suppliers to confirm shipment schedules and delivery dates.
• Address logistics discrepancies, finance tickets, and product group escalations.
• Analyze root causes of supply chain and material planning issues and develop solutions.
• Maintain accurate logistics and planning records using Microsoft Office and related systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, and various Caterpillar product groups.

• SAP Mach1 experience is a plus.
• Supplier Chain or Logistics Planning Analyst experience is highly relevant.
• Must be comfortable working onsite in Morton, IL.
• Potential for limited domestic travel.
