Job summary

Caterpillar in Brooklyn Park, MN, is seeking a Logistics Engineer to optimize inbound/outbound material flow and ensure timely material movement to POU. You will receive, store, and deliver materials safely, while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to set parameters and drive process improvements.

The role emphasizes maintaining standards, conducting root-cause analyses, and enhancing overall logistics efficiency in a global leader’s environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, industrial or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or Transportation Management.
• Material distribution and material handling equipment experience.
• Understanding of various materials systems and how they interrelate.
• Knowledge of CPS (Caterpillar Production System).
• SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound material flow to ensure timely and efficient movement of material to activity points along the material flow path.
• Ensure material is received, stored, or delivered safely and efficiently to POU (Point-of-Use).
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain functions to define critical parameters and develop plans for process control and improvements.
• Inventory transfer and rearrangement planning.
• Maintain internal logistics process engineering standards, knowledge, and tools; ensure their implementation in current and new operations.
• Evaluate logistics processes and workflows, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns.
• Collaborate with team members both within and outside of supply chain in shop and office environments.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or Transportation Management

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
