Allen Lund Company is seeking an energetic Accounting Intern to dive into the core financial operations across branch accounting, billing, and freight settlements. You will work under branch leadership to gain practical experience in corporate accounting, accounts payable, carrier onboarding, and collections, with real billing workflows and verification tasks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student or recent graduate in accounting, finance, business administration, or supply chain management.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach to matching numbers and verifying documents.
• Solid digital literacy and comfort with spreadsheets and accounting platforms; professional communication.

Responsibilities

• File settlement and billing operations: review Bills of Lading, verify quantities, resolve discrepancies with brokers before settlement.
• Accounts payable and carrier settlements: process invoices, issue payments, balance freight files, and forward paperwork to accounting.
• Carrier onboarding and risk management: assist with onboarding, ensure COIs are updated, and complete reference checks.
• Accounts receivable and collections: input invoicing data, run weekly receivables reports, handle AR inquiries.
• Vendor and carrier dispute resolution: collaborate to resolve AP issues and track delinquent PODs.
• Core branch accounting and systems: maintain filing systems and update customer platforms.
