Job summary

OSI Group in Oakland, CA seeks a machine operator to handle daily setup, monitoring, and sanitation of production equipment. The role requires following specifications, calibrating systems, and recording process data with attention to safety and quality.

The position is in a manufacturing plant environment with potential overtime; lifting up to 50 pounds may be required and adherence to GMP and food safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Ability to perform comparative analysis and make recommendations.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and follow a designated recipe.
• Basic understanding of units of measure and their applications.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of machinery as directed by leadership.
• Set up assigned equipment daily according to production schedule and product specs; disassemble for sanitation.
• Monitor equipment operations; troubleshoot basic malfunctions and notify supervision for significant issues.
• Record data and adjust as needed; calibrate systems to time, temperature, and positions of equipment.
• Record temperatures and read measuring devices; interpret product parameters.
• Work with maintenance to implement preventive maintenance programs and best practices.
• Maintain safe, clean work area in compliance with policy.
• Take ownership of equipment and comply with safety, GMP, and food safety policies.
