Job summary

The Appalachian Mountain Club's Highland Center Lodge in Bretton Woods, NH is seeking a Full-Time Custodian/Groundskeeper to maintain indoor and outdoor spaces. You will support guests and staff, perform grounds maintenance, and assist with snow removal and wood furnace operations.

This role requires reliable transportation, ability to lift 60 pounds, willingness to work weekends and holidays, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Prior hospitality/custodial experience is desirable.
• Excellent guest services skills and a commitment to AMC goals.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Good communication and ability to work with diverse guests.

Responsibilities

• Promote a team approach and support housekeeping and maintenance.
• Maintain exterior grounds, mow, landscape, and seasonal duties.
• Clean bathrooms, meeting spaces, and public areas daily.
• Lead snow removal and manage wood furnace operations.
• Train seasonal custodians and housekeeping staff.
• Assist with deep cleaning and special projects as needed.
• Coordinate campus-wide recycling and composting programs.
• Maintain trails, play areas, and outdoor features.
• Help with outdoor event setups such as concerts and weddings.
