Job summary

SkyHop Global LLC in Portland, OR, is seeking a Lead Driver (Player-Coach) to lead a team of drivers in a 24/7 operation while also driving routes as needed. You will set the standard for safety, service, and accountability, and collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure readiness and reliability for pilots and flight attendants.

This hands-on leadership role requires driving, scheduling, onboarding new team members, and enforcing a strict no-device policy.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old (DOT).
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with 3+ years driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Background check, drug screen, and physical required.
• Ability to obtain a Non-CDL DOT Medical Card.
• Conversational English required.
• Availability on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of drivers in a 24/7 operation.

SkyHop Global, a premier ground transportation company for airline crews, is seeking a Lead Driver (Player-Coach) for our Portland (PDX) location. We transport pilots and flight attendants between airports and hotels, delivering safe, reliable service while creating “Raving Fans.”

This is a hands-on leadership role—you’ll lead the team while also being in the field driving, setting the standard for safety, service, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of drivers in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 operation
• Build the schedule and adjust coverage based on airline activity and operational needs
• Assist Station Leader with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new drivers
• Act as a player-coach—drive routes as needed while leading by example
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and service expectations
• Conduct driver ride-alongs, training, and performance feedback
• Oversee vehicle readiness, inspections, and coordination with Fleet Manager
• Lead safety meetings and reinforce policies (including no mobile device policy)
• Maintain strong working relationships with airport and hotel partners

Driver Responsibilities (While in the Field)

• Safely transport airline crew members to/from airports and hotels
• Assist with luggage (up to 75 lbs)
• Communicate effectively via radio and in person
• Deliver professional, on‑time, customer‑focused service
• Create “Raving Fan” experiences on every trip

Requirements

• Must be 21+ years old (DOT requirement)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with 3+ years driving experience
• Clean driving record (no recent violations or at‑fault accidents)
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical
• Ability to obtain a Non‑CDL DOT Medical Card
• Conversational English required
• Must be available weekends and holidays
