Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate locum vacancy for a Surgery Vascular physician in Portsmouth, NH. The assignment is 13 weeks with 24-hour on-call coverage and a start on 12-01-26, offering daily rates of $2,700–$3,000.

The role requires MD or DO with ACGME/AOA‑accredited training and ABS board certification, NH license, and ACLS. On-site acute care hospital setting; travel and lodging support provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in general surgery accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
• Active and unrestricted medical license in New Hampshire.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Typically 1+ year of clinical surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies, among others.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
• Provide patient education about post-operative care and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
